Bangkok: "Sihasak" has set a goal for "economic diplomacy," instructing ambassadors to proactively work in economic matters, not limiting themselves to just one side or two, and to maintain good relations with other factions to help create a balance of power. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew, the Bhumjaithai Party's prime ministerial candidate, outlined a diplomatic approach to address the country's needs, emphasizing the need to find new markets, even in Central Asia. He stressed the importance of supporting free trade negotiations and, most importantly, urging ambassadors to proactively engage in economic activities.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sihasak stressed the need for ambassadors to understand Thailand's market demands, market needs, and new technologies to drive new economic engines. He also highlighted the importance of reaching high-level companies to unlock economic opportunities in this rapidly changing world, where diplomacy must adapt. He stressed the need to avoid taking sides, maintaining balance but retaining a clear stance. He acknowledged the impossibility of remaining neutral, and the courage to take a stand, avoiding involvement in conflicts if necessary, especially on issues in Thailand's interest.
Mr. Sihasak mentioned, "We must go where our interests lie. This is a multipolar world, so we shouldn't limit ourselves to just two poles. We should have good relationships with other poles as well, such as India, Japan, the EU, Australia, and Korea. Having good relationships helps to balance the different poles and provides more options." He also noted the launch of a new policy called 'Thailand's Expansion to Africa,' recognizing Africa's development and economic growth.
