Krabi: One person has died and more than ten others were injured following a collision between a speedboat and a fishing boat near Koh Phi Phi in Krabi province. The incident occurred around 8:45 AM in the Ao Nang Subdistrict, Mueang Krabi District.
According to Thai News Agency, the speedboat was carrying 55 individuals, including tourists and crew members, en route from Phuket to Phi Phi Island when it collided with a fishing boat engaged in trawling activities. The impact resulted in several dozen tourists being thrown overboard. Immediate assistance was provided by nearby boats, which coordinated efforts with the Marine Police and the Phuket Provincial Administration Organization (Phuket Pearl Center) to ensure further aid was delivered.
Passengers from the speedboat have been safely brought ashore on Phi Phi Island. They are currently being transported back to Chalong Bay Pier in Phuket to receive necessary medical attention. As of 11:07 AM, authorities reported one fatality along with two orange-coded cases, twelve yellow-coded cases, and seven green-coded cases, indicating varying levels of injury severity.
