Bangkok: Yotchanan Wongsawat, the Pheu Thai Party's prime ministerial candidate, has expressed confidence that Theerarat Samrejvanich will retain the Lat Krabang district championship. He emphasized the continuous engagement with the public and acknowledged the NIDA poll results, which show him trailing, but remains open to feedback and improvements. He believes that the party's policies will help regain votes and highlighted that candidates are consistently campaigning in the area.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Yotsanan expressed confidence in retaining the party's Bangkok parliamentary seats, particularly in Lat Krabang, where the party currently holds only one seat. His confidence is bolstered by the consistent efforts of Ms. Samrejvanich, the former MP for Lat Krabang, who has been actively involved in community activities. During his visits to riverside communities and the Huatakeh market, he observed significant opportunities and received positive feedback. Ms. Samrejvanich has supported the community in areas such as tourism and agriculture, and he sees potential for Lat Krabang to develop into a tourist attraction to boost local income.
Mr. Yotsanan also discussed various issues with Ms. Samrejvanich, including flooding and water management, which she has continuously addressed. Her work in the Ministry of Interior has had an impact beyond Lat Krabang, with tangible achievements in disaster management in Chiang Rai province. After visiting the area, Mr. Yotsanan noted the positive feedback from the community.
In addressing the issue of gaining support in Bangkok, Mr. Yotsanan stated that he is confident after speaking with many residents who have placed their hopes in him. Despite a Dida Poll survey indicating that the Pheu Thai Party lags behind, Mr. Yotchanan found encouragement in other surveys, such as the Daily News-Matichon poll, which show the party leading. He remains open to feedback and is committed to improving where necessary, hoping the public will give them a chance.
Mr. Yoschanan detailed the party's strategy to regain support, noting that communication of policies has commenced. Policies are being adjusted after visiting areas, with the 70:30% policy aimed at stimulating the economy. He emphasized the need for comprehensive care for all levels of society to ensure Thailand's stability and credibility internationally.
Regarding the upcoming election, Mr. Yotsanan expressed confidence in regaining a lead in the remaining 30 days. He highlighted that the party's constituency MPs have been consistently campaigning and communicating various policies to the public, which should ensure a positive response.
