Bangkok: The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) launched the National Children's Day 2026 event, "Join the Rail: Building Dreams for Children," at Bangkok Central Station. The Acting Governor of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) participated in the opening ceremony of the event, which saw a lively atmosphere with many children and young people engaging in various activities.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Anan Phothinimdaeng, Deputy Governor of the State Railway of Thailand, acting as Governor, and Mr. Suthep Phanpheng, Managing Director of SRT Electrified Rail Co., Ltd., jointly presided over the opening ceremony. Executives from the SRT, SRT Electrified Rail Co., Ltd., and SRT Asset Co., Ltd. were also present. The event aimed to provide happiness and educational activities, allowing Thai children and youth to experience railway operations and the Red Line suburban electric train firsthand.
The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) emphasized its commitment to supporting social responsibility, particularly in promoting children and youth as vital forces for national development. In collaboration with its subsidiaries, SRT Electric Train Company Limited and SRT Asset Company Limited, the SRT organized National Children's Day activities across Bangkok Central Station and other SRT stations and units in various regions. The activities aligned with the 2026 National Children's Day motto: "Love Thailand, Care for the World," as declared by Acting Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul.
The event included a variety of engaging activities such as DIY projects, stage performances, and a Q and A session with special prizes, enhancing children's concentration. Free food and drinks were provided throughout. Similar events were held in various regions, including the Uttaradit Locomotive Depot and Ubon Ratchathani Railway Operations Depot, bringing joy to children in Bangkok and beyond.
