Summons Issued to Dog Owner After Child Suffers Severe Injury

Bangkok: A summons has been issued to the owner of a Bangkaew mixed-breed dog that severely injured a 9-year-old boy in a biting incident. The boy suffered a ruptured testicle after being bitten in the groin by the dog, and the owner has not taken responsibility for the incident.

According to Thai News Agency, the Paveena Foundation accompanied the boy's mother in a meeting with officials to expedite the case. The meeting included the Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 2, the Superintendent of Don Mueang Police Station, an advisor to the Bangkok Governor, and the Director of Don Mueang District. Discussions focused on support for the injured child and measures for pet ownership control.

The superintendent of Don Mueang Police Station mentioned that evidence suggests the accused man is the dog's owner, despite his refusal to accept the initial summons. Police are gathering witness statements and investigating ownership. The boy will undergo a medical examination to assess the injuries, which may lead to additional charges. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration will provide 6,000 baht in accident assistance, and compensation for the criminal case will be offered by the Ministry of Justice.
