Supamas Orders Investigation into University Issuing Student Visas to Chinese Engineers

Bangkok: Supamas Isaraphakdi, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, has initiated an investigation into allegations concerning a private university issuing student visas to Chinese engineers. These individuals allegedly entered the country under the guise of students to work illegally on the construction of the new Office of the Auditor General building.

According to Thai News Agency, the issue was brought to light by Mr. Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn, a Member of Parliament from the Prachachon Party. Following the revelation, Ms. Supamas acted promptly, ordering an inquiry into the activities of the university, which reportedly hosts a significant number of Chinese students. The minister emphasized the need to establish the facts before making any accusations or taking punitive action. The investigation aims to determine the veracity of the claims and to ensure that appropriate measures are taken if any wrongdoing is confirmed.
