Thailand: Thailand's air force is preparing for its annual Children's Day air show on Saturday, with expectations of drawing more than 100,000 attendees for an event featuring low-altitude flight displays. Air Marshal Chakkrit Thammavichai, a spokesperson for the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF), announced that the event is designed to inspire young people and demonstrate the nation's defense capabilities.
According to Thai News Agency, Air Marshal Chakkrit highlighted the significance of this year's event, noting that it follows recent air operations in border areas. He mentioned that attendees are seen as providing moral support to the soldiers. The spokesperson also clarified that the Children's Day flight displays are distinct from actual air operations, as they involve low-altitude flights to give the audience a clear view of the aircraft.
Primary displays are scheduled to take place at Bangkok's Don Mueang base and the Thung Si Kan airfield. However, several frontline bases in provinces such as Nakhon Ratchasima, Chiang Mai, and Ubon Ratchathani will remain closed to the public to maintain combat readiness. The RTAF has also issued a warning about possible commercial flight delays at Don Mueang International Airport and has implemented an online registration system for attendees to effectively manage crowds and ensure security.
