Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation Announces 6-Month Fee and Installment Suspension for Border-Affected Customers

Bangkok: The Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCGC) has announced a six-month suspension of fees and installment payments for customers and borrowers impacted by the situation along the Thai-Cambodian border. This relief measure aims to support businesses located in the seven provinces bordering Cambodia, which include Ubon Ratchathani, Sisaket, Surin, Buriram, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, and Trat.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sittikorn Direksuntorn, Director and General Manager of the Small and Medium Enterprise Credit Guarantee Corporation (SMEG), stated that urgent measures have been introduced to assist those affected. The relief targets customers and debtors whose claims have been paid by SMEG. The assistance comprises a moratorium on fees and installment payments, divided into two categories to cater to different groups of borrowers.

The first set of measures is directed at small and medium enterprises (SMEs) whose loans are guaranteed by TCGC and whose guarantee fees are due between December 7, 2025, and January 31, 2026. These SMEs will be allowed to defer both guarantee fees and management fees for six months, with the condition that registration for this relief must be completed by January 31, 2026.

The second set of measures applies to debtors whose claims have been covered by TCGC and who are currently repaying under a debt restructuring plan without defaulting on payments. These debtors can suspend their principal and interest payments for six months, with applications being accepted from December 7, 2025, to January 31, 2026. Additionally, for cases involving government officials or civilians who have died or become disabled due to the border unrest, TCGC will waive all principal and interest on contracts for which claims have been paid.

TCGC has also directed its regional offices in the affected areas to disseminate information about the available assistance measures to clients and debtors. The corporation is committed to providing further support to help affected businesses recover and rehabilitate once the situation stabilizes.
