Amman: The Thai embassy in Amman has successfully facilitated the evacuation of 10 Thai tourists from Iraq, enabling their safe arrival in Turkey, where they are now awaiting their flight back to Thailand. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sihasak is preparing to welcome another group of 30 Thais who have been evacuated from Iran and are expected to return to Thailand tomorrow.
According to Thai News Agency, the Royal Thai Embassy in Amman coordinated the assistance for the tourists who were stranded in Kabala, Iraq. The tourists were able to cross into Turkey on the morning of March 8, 2026, and are currently in Mardin, Turkey. They will soon travel to Istanbul to board a flight back to Thailand.
Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkaew is set to be present at Suvarnabhumi Airport tomorrow, March 9, to welcome the first group of 30 Thais returning from Iran. They are expected to arrive in Thailand around 3:00 PM on a Turkish Airlines flight.
