Thai Polo Team Aims for Historic Gold at SEA Games

Samut prakan: The Thai polo team introduced its SEA Games athletes, led by Aiyawatt and Apichet Srivaddhanaprabha, aiming to win a historic gold medal. The Thailand Polo Association held the “Exhibition Match: Road to SEA Games 2025” to announce the readiness of the Thai national polo team before participating in the 33rd SEA Games. Dr. Pairoj Boonkhongchuen, president of the association, along with Mr. Lucas Luhan, head coach of the Thai national team, also introduced the SEA Games national athletes, led by Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha and Apichet Srivaddhanaprabha, who attended the event at VS Sports Club and Siam Polo Park in Samut Prakan Province.

According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Pairoj stated that the association has a clear goal to promote Thailand as a “regional polo hub” and is committed to achieving results at this year’s SEA Games, aiming for gold medals in two competition categories: Handicap 2-4 Goals and 4-6 Goals.

Meanwhile, Apichet Srivaddhanaprabha, a member of the Thai national polo team, revealed that some players have been training abroad, while others are training intensively in Thailand. Everyone on the team is proud to represent the Thai national team and shares the same goal: a gold medal. It must be acknowledged that rival ASEAN nations have also improved significantly.

Before the athletes compete in a special warm-up match between “Thailand A and Thailand B,” the Thai polo team has never won a SEA Games gold medal before. If they do, it will be the first time.
