Nonthaburi: The Thai U-19 futsal team emerged victorious over Indonesia with a 3-1 scoreline in the ASEAN U-19 Futsal Championship final held at Nonthaburi Stadium. This win marks Thailand's first ever ASEAN U-19 Championship title.
According to Thai News Agency, the match showcased a solid performance from the Thai national team. The first goal was netted by Poompuchit Huabam in the 17th minute, but Indonesia equalized with a penalty kick by Muhammad Robbie in the 20th minute. Thailand regained the lead with two quick goals from Sorawich Sirisawat in the 21st minute and Setthawut Srithong in the 26th minute, securing their historic victory.
In contrast, the Thai U-16 futsal team faced a different outcome against Indonesia in another match of the ASEAN U-16 Futsal Championship. Both teams engaged in an aggressive game, with Thailand initially taking the lead through Boonrit Phetthim in the 1st minute. However, Indonesia equalized shortly after with a goal from Hetson Messi in the 4th minute. Boonrit scored again in the 17th minute, but Indonesia responded with goals from Muhammad Faisal in the 20th and 28th minutes, and Muhammad Dafa in the 26th minute, ultimately winning the match 4-3.
Although Boonrit Phetthiam scored another goal for Thailand in the 38th minute, it was not enough to change the outcome. The Thai U-16 team finished as runners-up, while Indonesia claimed the title for the first time in this category.
