Zagreb: The Thai women's hockey team has successfully arranged their return to Thailand after being stranded in Croatia due to disruptions caused by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The team, which recently earned the runner-up position in the Division 3 World Championships, will be flying back in two separate groups and is scheduled to arrive on March 5th.
According to Thai News Agency, the team's return was delayed when their original flight with Qatar Airways was canceled. This cancellation was a direct consequence of the turbulent situation in the Middle East, affecting various international travel routes. The Honorary Consulate of Thailand in Zagreb played a critical role in providing the team with the necessary assistance and support while they awaited new travel arrangements.
The team will now be flying with Turkish Airlines, departing from Croatia to Turkey. From Turkey, they will split into two groups, with the first group arriving at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 3:05 PM and the second group landing at Phuket Airport at 3:50 PM. Both groups will then connect to Don Mueang Airport, ensuring their arrival in Thailand by 9:25 PM on the same day. The team's safe return marks the end of an unexpected delay that followed their impressive performance in the international competition.
