Chanthaburi: A significant agreement has been reached between Thailand and Cambodia, with the signing of a peace declaration ending border clashes. The 3rd Special Session of the Thai-Cambodian GBC (General Border Committee Meeting) at the Ban Phak Krad permanent border crossing in Chanthaburi Province has reached a significant agreement. General Natthaphol Nakphanich, Thailand's Minister of Defence, and General Tea Seha, Cambodia's Minister of Defence, signed an agreement on four key issues, in accordance with the Kuala Lumpur Peace Declaration. These include an immediate ceasefire, the withdrawal of heavy weapons, joint mine clearance, combating scammers, and managing disputed border areas, aiming to end the violent clashes along the border. Following a 30-minute discussion, both sides signed the agreement in a cordial atmosphere amidst tight security.
According to Thai News Agency, General Nattapol emphasized that the mission to reclaim sovereign territory was 99% complete, securing strategic areas from now on is even more important for the safety of the people of both countries.
