According to Thai News Agency, Police Lieutenant General Ruddhaphol Naowarat, the Minister of Justice, confirmed that the parole application procedure for Thaksin can proceed following standard protocols. The Minister stated that after consulting with relevant committees, from the prison level under the Department of Corrections to the ministerial level, it was verified that the process adheres to legal requirements.
The eligibility timeframe for Thaksin's parole is set for May 2026. The criteria for parole generally require that prisoners have served at least two-thirds of their sentence to qualify for an application. The Minister of Justice emphasized that all actions concerning the case were conducted in line with legal regulations and procedures, with no deviations from established guidelines.
