Thaksin’s Parole Granted Following Standard Procedures, Says Minister

Bangkok: The Minister of Justice revealed that Thaksin's parole was granted in accordance with procedure.

According to Thai News Agency, Police Lieutenant General Ruduthpol Nawarat, the Minister of Justice, addressed the parole application of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Thaksin's eligibility for parole was confirmed by the Klong Prem Central Prison committee. The Minister confirmed his awareness of the application details and mentioned that a meeting would be held on April 29th to discuss the matter further.

The parole process adhered to established procedures, with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice providing the necessary approval after the committee's review of the application. When questioned about the possibility of Thaksin engaging in political activities following his release, the Minister stated that no assessment had been made in that regard.
