Bangkok: Captain Thamanat Phromphao, chairman of the advisory board of the Kla Tham Party, has expressed satisfaction with his party securing ballot number 42 for the upcoming elections. He believes that people remember the person, not the number, and plans to focus on large rallies in 17 provinces to promote constructive politics and avoid conflict.
According to Thai News Agency, Captain Thamanat shared his positive outlook after drawing the number, stating that he personally liked the number 42. He noted that he wasn't worried about the memorability of the number, as he believed people would remember him regardless. Captain Thamanat recalled his previous experiences with different ballot numbers, such as 15 and 6 in earlier campaigns, and expressed contentment with any number, considering all numbers auspicious. He humorously remarked that he should aim for a higher number, given that most major parties received two-digit numbers.
When questioned about the potential challenges of having a two-digit number, Captain Thamanat responded confidently, asserting that people of all ages recognize him as Narumon Paveena Thamanat. He emphasized the unique identity of the Kla Tham Party, stressing that they do not classify themselves as either big or small.
Looking ahead to the election campaign, Captain Thamanat announced plans for large-scale rallies across 17 provinces, with discussions underway regarding the location of the first rally. He acknowledged the possibility of other parties refusing to join a coalition government with Kla Tham Party but expressed gratitude for the increased prominence it has brought to him and his party.
Captain Thamanat reiterated the party's commitment to avoiding disputes and focusing on constructive political change in Thailand. He emphasized mutual respect when interacting with other parties during rallies, underscoring their dedication to transcending conflict in the political arena.
