“The Little Tiger Project” Film to Highlight Thai Military History and Aid Veterans

Bangkok: Director of the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, presided over a press conference for the “THE LITTLE TIGER PROJECT,” a significant initiative aimed at producing a film about the Korean War. The film’s production is set to begin in early 2016, with proceeds dedicated to purchasing medical equipment for the Veterans Hospital.

According to Thai News Agency, the press conference witnessed the attendance of several dignitaries, including General Decha Nithit Leungngamkham, Director of the War Veterans Organization of Thailand (WVO), Mr. Park Yong Min, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Thailand, and Air Chief Marshal Weerasak Kaenmanee, Vice President of the Korean War Veterans Association under Royal Patronage. Dr. Jittima Preecha, Director of the War Veterans Hospital, along with executives from the Safe and Creative Media Development Fund and Grand Big Bang Co., Ltd., also participated. The project, produced by Grand Big Bang Co., Ltd., encompasses the film “The Little Tiger,” the concert “Finding Heroes,” and the charity marathon “The Battle of Brothers Marathon.”

The initiative seeks to demonstrate loyalty to His Majesty the King, with the film narrating the true story of the 21st Infantry Battalion. Thailand was among the 16 countries that responded to the United Nations’ call to assist South Korea during the Korean War. An exhibition was also part of the event, aimed at promoting the history and heroism of the Thai military to both Thai citizens and foreigners, thereby enhancing the image of the Thai military and the monarchy.

A portion of the project’s proceeds is earmarked for purchasing medical equipment and supplies for the Veterans Hospital, highlighting the project’s dual focus on historical education and veteran welfare.
