Parliament 22 Oct – The Senate’s Property Committee urgently discussed the ” Rai Chern Tawan ” area, along with “Boss Kant’s” land, after someone recently filed a complaint. The Senate’s Biology Committee believes that in 1-2 days, the truth will be clear. They are waiting to investigate in parallel. The Royal Forest Department revealed that “Kant Kantathaworn’s” land is outside the forest reserve, but they need to investigate whether it exceeds the title deed or not.
Mr. Chiwa Chiwadham, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Environment, spoke about the investigation of Rai Chern Tawan, a meditation center of V. Vajiramedhi, confirming that the Committee on Natural Resources and Environment had received two cases: Rai Chern Tawan and the land of Mr. Kant Kantathaworn in Chiang Mai. The people who filed the complaints had also forwarded them to other agencies, including the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Royal Forest Department, and the Department of Special Investigation. The Committ
ee is the coordinating agency, following up on the investigation of the facts to provide clarity to the public. The public is following up on what is right and wrong in this matter, and confirming that we work straightforwardly to provide clarity and justice.
As for Rai Chern Tawan, even though it is a protected forest, permission can be requested to enter because there are monasteries and temples throughout the country that use the protected forest. This is normal because we are Buddhists. We understand that the monasteries have a mission to promote the spread of Buddhism. However, right or wrong, we will have to wait for the Royal Forest Department to investigate. The committee will coordinate in parallel.
As for the progress of the Royal Forest Department’s investigation, will they invite them? Mr. Chiwa said that he believes that the Director-General of the Royal Forest Department is serious. When compared to the incident with the Big Buddha in Phuket, it is the same. If it is found that there is encroa
chment on a protected forest, a police report must be filed. We have to see who did it. If Rai Cheentawan did it too, we have to see who did it. But to conclude that it is V. Vajiramedhi who did it is still inconclusive. However, if the Royal Forest Department has a clear conclusion, we will follow up and compare that issue with what the public has sent to the committee. If the Royal Forest Department has investigated and confirmed that it is correct, it is okay. We will explain it to the complainant and the public so that they understand.
As for the suspicious or risky information, Mr. Chiwa said that the committee does not have a technical team to go into the details, but the one who will check whether it is wrong or correct is the Royal Forest Department. As for the committee, our duty is to just wait and see. If the Royal Forest Department says it is correct but the information sent by the people contradicts it, we will have to reconsider. However, I believe that the Royal Forest Department is straightfo
rward and fair.
‘Today, there is no one who dares to say that wrong is right, right is wrong. The committee must be like that. You cannot go against feelings or against forensic science. It cannot be changed,’ said Mr. Chiwathi.
However, in the next 1-2 days, the Forestry Department should have some clarity because this is a forensic science issue. The scope of the permit request is a map with markers to inspect, analyze, and read the plan to see the connections. It won’t be long before we know what is right or wrong.
In this case, Rai Chern Tawan uses an area of ??190 rai, so we have to look at the details of the application to see if it is correct or not. If the application is correct, we have to look at the matter of possession and utilization, which the Royal Forest Department will be the one to check.
As for Mr. Kant’s land, many people have filed complaints with various agencies, including the Royal Forest Department and the Department of Special Investigation, which posted a sale price of 40 millio
n baht. Initially, it was outside the forest reserve, but it will have to be investigated further to see if there are any title deeds.
As for the part where Mr. Kant bought it for 2.5 million baht but advertised it for 40 million baht, may the price be too high? Mr. Chiwa said that he did not know what he did, whether there were any additional constructions. The 2.5 million baht that he bought must be examined in detail. The inspection is separate from the area for permission because this part is a occupied area. We must look at the title deed or NS3 to see if it exceeds the existing title deed. What year was the title deed obtained? How was it obtained? Is it legal? This matter must be considered. However, initially, it was reported that it was outside the forest reserve. We do not know if there have been any more complaints. If anyone has any additional information, they can submit it and confirm that the committee works straightforwardly. Today, we want society to see that we, the senators from 20 profess
ional groups, have true intentions to help take care of natural resources and help take care of the people and the country’s interests. -315 – Thai News Agency
