Trang: Trang police are urgently requesting the court to issue an arrest warrant for the man who killed and burned four people to death, while relatives are inviting monks to perform a ceremony to invite the spirits back home.
According to Thai News Agency, on May 12, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., Trang Province forensic police officers visited a 170-rai oil palm plantation where a group of assailants shot and burned the plantation manager, coworkers, and subordinates, resulting in three bodies being discovered. Additionally, another mysterious body was found burned and buried nearby, bringing the total to four bodies. The police returned to the site to collect more evidence, particularly focusing on the hut where the three deceased were shot and set on fire. An additional 11 mm bullet head was found, though evidence collection has been hampered by recent rain, which has destroyed some evidence. Various calibers of firearms were used during the incident, as bullet heads of different sizes were found.
The investigation team is actively searching for leads in Sikao and Wang Wiset districts in Trang province and Sai Khao sub-district in Khlong Thom district in Krabi province to track down the perpetrators. All evidence collected has been sent to Forensic Science Center 10 in Yala province, due to its more advanced equipment, instead of Forensic Science Center 9 in Songkhla province.
Initially, Pol. Maj. Gen. Phatthawich Keetmotaniyakul, Commander of Trang Provincial Police, disclosed that the case has made significant progress. Police are preparing to request the court to issue initial arrest warrants for four suspects. Additionally, Pol. Lt. Gen. Piyawat Chalermsri, Commander of Region 9, is scheduled to personally visit the area to follow up on the case and provide updates on its progress.
Meanwhile, relatives and family members of Mr. Anan, a 50-year-old general technician from Khun Thale Subdistrict, Lansaka District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, who died at the scene, gathered at the site where the rubber was burned. They invited a monk to perform a ceremony to invite the spirit of the deceased back home. The deceased’s sister-in-law expressed confidence in the police’s efforts, acknowledging their determination and believing that they will apprehend the perpetrator.
