According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Akkharut Sonthayanon, Director-General of the Treasury Department, stated that the coins are being issued to honor King Ananda Mahidol's reign, which played a crucial role in unifying the Thai people during a significant period of national change. The commemorative coins will be available in three types: polished gold coins, polished silver coins, and ordinary white metal coins.

The gold coin, made from 99% pure gold, has a diameter of 26 millimeters and weighs 15 grams. It is priced at 99,999 baht, with a limited production of 800 coins. The polished silver coin, with 92.5% purity, has a 35 mm diameter and weighs 22 grams, available at 3,000 baht per coin, with a maximum of 5,000 coins produced. Lastly, the copper-nickel alloy coin has a 32 mm diameter, weighs 15 grams, and is available for exchange at 20 baht per coin, with a production cap of 250,000 coins.
