Trump Dismisses Pam Bondy from Attorney General Post

Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump has terminated Attorney General Pam Bondy from her position, citing growing dissatisfaction with her performance. The decision comes amid concerns over her handling of files related to the case of Jeffrey Epstein, a deceased sexual assault offender.

According to Thai News Agency, President Trump expressed displeasure with Bondy's perceived delays in advancing indictments against his critics and opponents. In a social media announcement, Trump appointed Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanch, his former personal attorney, as the acting Attorney General on a temporary basis.

Bondy, in her response on social media, described her tenure as Attorney General under President Trump as the greatest honor of her life. She stated her commitment to a smooth transition, planning to spend the next month handing over responsibilities to Blanch. Blanch also expressed gratitude to President Trump and praised Bondy, pledging to focus on national security.

Bondy's dismissal marks the second recent high-profile departure from the Trump administration, following the removal of Homeland Security Secretary Christy Nome on March 5th. Nome faced criticism over her management of the department and the administration's immigration policies.
