Bangkok: "Uncle Pom" (Prawit Wongsuwan) has taken on a new role as a food reviewer after retiring from politics, embarking on a noodle tasting tour with his veteran friends. The former chairman of the advisory board of the Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP) invited his classmates from the 6th class of the Royal Thai Army Academy to join him on this culinary adventure. Their destination was the renowned beef noodle restaurant "Nai T." in the Wacharaphon area.
According to Thai News Agency, General Prawit extended his invitation to Ms. Noppawan Huajaimun, the Palang Pracharath Party's candidate for Constituency 12, along with her campaign team. The gathering provided an opportunity for them to recharge and boost morale before resuming their campaign activities. The atmosphere at the restaurant was warm and informal, with members of the public interacting with the group, taking photos, and engaging in friendly conversations.
During the visit, General Prawit focused on understanding the challenges faced by the local community. He urged the candidates to maintain close contact with the residents, listen to their concerns, and work towards finding effective solutions. Pharmacist Noppawan Huajaiman expressed her commitment to prioritizing policies for the elderly, aiming to enhance their quality of life, promote income-generating opportunities, and ensure fair access to government welfare services.
Before departing, General Prawit and his companions took photos with the restaurant owner and patrons, who inquired about his potential return to politics. General Prawit humorously expressed his preference for a behind-the-scenes role in politics, revealing his aspiration to become a full-time "foodie." Inspired by numerous restaurant reviews in various media, he expressed his enthusiasm for exploring culinary delights firsthand.
In his inaugural review as a novice food critic, General Prawit praised the Nai T. Wacharapol Noodle Shop. He recommended visiting with a group to enjoy the hot pot featuring tender beef, crispy beef, and meatballs. Concluding his review, he remarked, "The best noodles are eaten at the restaurant," capturing the essence of his newfound passion for food exploration.
