Venezuelan Acting President Invites US for Cooperation Amidst Tensions

Caracas: The acting president of Venezuela has issued an invitation to the United States to cooperate for a sustainable relationship between the two nations. This gesture follows a stern warning from the US leader, who threatened more severe retaliation than what the Venezuelan leader has faced if there is no cooperation.

According to Thai News Agency, Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodrguez was appointed as acting president by a Supreme Court order after President Nicol¡s Maduro was arrested and expelled to the United States to face trial. In a social media message, Rodrguez emphasized Venezuela's commitment to peace and a peaceful coexistence without external threats. She highlighted the importance of fostering relations based on sovereign equality and non-interference with the US and other regional countries.

Rodrguez further appealed to U.S. President Donald Trump, advocating for peace and dialogue instead of conflict. She underscored Venezuela's right to peace, development, sovereignty, and a prosperous future for its people and the region.

The acting president's offer of cooperation comes in the wake of President Trump's threats of severe consequences if Rodrguez failed to cooperate with the US. This threat was a reaction to her assertion on the day of Maduro's arrest that he remains the legitimate president of Venezuela.
