Wiroj Compares Political Strategy to Football Tactics Amidst Parliamentary Tensions

Bangkok: In a recent Facebook post, Mr. Viroj Lakkhanaadisorn, Deputy Leader of the People's Party, drew parallels between parliamentary strategy and football tactics, following an incident involving Mr. Pakornwut Udompipatkul, a People's Party list MP, and Mr. Chris Potanan, a list MP of the Economic Party, during a heated session in the House of Representatives.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Viroj described the political landscape as akin to a football game, where opposing players employ provocative tactics to disrupt focus and provoke errors. He emphasized that when faced with such challenges, the approach should be more than just patience; it requires a strategic adjustment of tactics.

Mr. Viroj suggested transforming key players from "playmakers" to "decoys" to create opportunities for teammates, thus turning aggressive marking into an advantage. He likened this to political teamwork, where collaboration on public-benefiting issues leads to tangible results.

To mitigate provocation, Mr. Viroj advised reducing ball possession, symbolizing a less confrontational approach in politics. He urged MPs to focus on their duties and suggested that clarifications be handled diplomatically by others to avoid conflicts.

He further recommended changing attack strategies, both in sports and politics, to neutralize targeted provocations. By addressing various pressing issues, such as soaring diesel prices and their broader implications, MPs can gather insights on multifaceted challenges affecting constituents.

Mr. Viroj concluded by encouraging a focus on diligent work for the public, suggesting that success in delivering results would silence provocateurs and gradually improve the parliamentary atmosphere.
