Wirote Challenges Pheu Thai on Grey Capital Stand

Bangkok: Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn, a party-list MP and deputy leader of the Prachachon Party, has openly challenged the Pheu Thai Party on their stance regarding grey capital, questioning whether they would adopt the campaign slogan “With Pheu Thai, There’s Grey.” He emphasized his party’s stance with the campaign slogan “With Us, No Grey,” clarifying that his intention was not to criticize individuals, but to highlight the struggles faced by those involved with grey capital.

According to Thai News Agency, Wiroj responded to criticism of Pheu Thai Party leader Chulphan Amornvivat’s campaign, suggesting that if Pheu Thai disagreed, they could launch their own campaign. He highlighted that the campaign was a political statement asserting that the Prachachon Party would not allow grey capital to influence the Thai political system. He outlined the threat posed by grey capital to national security, including issues like human trafficking, drug trafficking, and scams, which exploit political frameworks and involve politicians and high-ranking officials.

Wiroj called on the Pheu Thai Party, which has previously overseen the Ministry of Finance, to clarify its position on cooperating with grey capital groups. He urged them to be vigilant and to remain composed if they were not involved, stating, “If it’s not gray, then stay calm and don’t shake.”

The People’s Party remains committed to scrutinizing all political parties equally, not singling out the Kla Tham Party. It maintains that making observations is a normal practice in a democratic society and that parties not involved in illegal activities need not respond. The People’s Party is focused on investigating significant issues impacting the economy and security to enhance political standards for transparency and accountability to the public.
