Bangkok: Visit the millions of bats at Wat Khao Chong Pran in Photharam District, Ratchaburi Province. These bats emerge to feed on insects in the evenings and return to the cave in the early morning, becoming a unique attraction in Ratchaburi that draws a steady stream of tourists.

According to Thai News Agency, millions of bats are seen gradually flying out of the cave at Wat Khao Chong Pran in Photharam District, Ratchaburi Province. This is currently a major tourist attraction in Photharam, with tourists waiting to watch the bats emerge every evening. The bats typically start flying out around 5:30 PM, and it can take almost an hour for the last one to appear.

These bats are insectivorous, known as "wrinkled-lipped bats" or "mouse bats." They are small bats, and their advantage is that they help control pests in fields and gardens by foraging for insects, thus not damaging crops. The bats fly out of the caves to forage, their direction changing with the seasons, and return to the cave at dawn, around 5:00 AM.

Wat Khao Chong Pran has therefore collaborated to beautify its grounds to accommodate tourists. There is a spacious parking lot and a bat viewing area. In addition, bat guano is available for sale as 100% natural organic fertilizer rich in phosphorus, ideal for nourishing roots, promoting flowering, and enhancing the sweetness of fruits. The temple allows villagers to collect and sell the guano, using the proceeds to support the temple and the community.
