Cambodian and Thai Envoys Urge Ceasefire at UN Meeting Over Border Clashes

New York: Cambodian and Thai envoys addressed the United Nations Security Council on Friday amid ongoing border clashes, with Cambodia advocating for an unconditional ceasefire and Thailand pressing for a cessation of hostilities and a return to dialogue.

According to Nam News Network, Cambodia’s UN ambassador, Chhea Keo, called for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire with Thailand following recent border clashes between the two nations. After a closed-door meeting of the Security Council, the Cambodian ambassador emphasized the need for a peaceful resolution to the border dispute.

Thailand, represented by Cherdchai, called on Cambodia to immediately cease all hostilities and acts of aggression. Cherdchai urged Cambodia to resume dialogue in good faith, highlighting the importance of peaceful negotiations to resolve the ongoing conflict.
